ACRCloud Audio Detection

Kingsmen Studio includes a powerful fingerprinting tool—ACRCloud—to help you validate ownership, spot potential issues, and protect your catalog before distribution to DSPs or user-generated content platforms like YouTube, TikTok, or Facebook.

How It Works

  1. Once you upload a track, ACRCloud scans the full audio file and creates a fingerprint.

  2. It compares this fingerprint against a global database to detect:

    • Exact or partial matches with existing recordings

    • Derivative content like remixes, covers, or pitch-shifted versions

    • Non-musical elements such as speech, silence, or ambient noise that may conflict with UGC policy.

  3. Matches appear in the Inspection page alongside the track, with an ACRCloud icon. You’ll see the matched track’s title and artist, plus a confidence score (0–100%) indicating how close the match is.

What to Do If a Match Is Found

  • Verify Rights: Ensure you hold full rights to the track.

  • Check Licensing: If it's a remix, cover, or includes samples, confirm you have the appropriate clearances.

  • Review UGC Eligibility: If the track has non-music segments or closely mirrors existing content, it may be flagged by platforms like TikTok or YouTube.

  • Take Action:

    • If you can verify ownership, you may still approve the release.

    • Otherwise, consider parking or failing the release to avoid takedowns.

    • Pay special attention to even low-confidence matches—they can indicate unauthorized material or loops.

What “No Result” Means

If there’s no match, ACRCloud didn’t detect any duplicate or derivative content. This could mean your track is genuinely original—or simply new to its database. Always continue your regular inspection routines to be safe.

Why This Matters

  • Prevent Rights Issues: Avoid releasing content that may trigger copyright or policy violations.

  • UGC Platform Compliance: Help ensure tracks remain playable and monetizable on content-sharing sites.

  • Scale with Confidence: Particularly useful for managing catalogs with many releases.
