YouTube’s Content ID system is designed to protect original content. Misusing this system to monetize content that you don’t fully own or that lacks artistic purpose may result in permanent removal from Content ID and even channel-level consequences.

At Kingsmen Studio, we support your right to monetize your music — but we must follow YouTube's rules to avoid putting your content (and our entire catalog) at risk.

🚫 What NOT to Do

YouTube and Kingsmen prohibit the following uses of Content ID:

  • Embedding your music in unrelated third-party content, such as:

    • Movie scenes

    • TV shows or sitcoms

    • Motivational speeches

    • Celebrity interviews

    • Popular memes

    • Stock footage with no connection to your music

  • Using misleading video elements, including:

    • Fake VEVO or label logos

    • Titles suggesting association with well-known artists or brands

    • Thumbnails unrelated to your song

  • Adding your song to compilations (e.g., “Best of Eminem + YOUR NAME”) where your track is not the main focus

  • Uploading unaltered third-party content with your music added only to claim monetization rights

These actions are considered Content ID abuse, even if you own the song.

✅ What You CAN Do

You may promote your music responsibly by ensuring:

  • The video is created around your song — not the other way around

  • You clearly label the track name and artist in the title or description

  • Visual content (e.g., visuals, lyrics, behind-the-scenes) supports your music, not exploits someone else’s content

  • You do not flood YouTube with near-identical videos

⚠️ Consequences of Violations

If your video or asset violates Content ID’s monetization policy:

  • The Content ID reference will be removed

  • All existing claims may be released

  • The asset may be banned from future Content ID use

  • Repeat violations can lead to loss of Content ID access for all your content

These consequences apply whether the misuse was intentional or not.

Kingsmen Studio Guidelines

To protect your music and maintain trust with YouTube:

  • Always submit only original content with full rights

  • Don’t reupload viral content with your track just to gain views

  • Promote music authentically — build real engagement with fans
